The amount of colour laser printers below £150 continues to grow and HP's Color LaserJet CP1215 is an compact entry into the marketplace. It is not much bigger when compared to a mono laser, but could print in full colour at speed equivalent inkjet machines would still be hard pushed to match.

This can be a neat little printer, cased in light grey and white, having a simple control panel consisting of two large buttons, for paper feed and job cancel, and also a choice of indicator lights, including four for toner level. HP estimates the CP1215's cost per page to become 3. 2 cents for black and white and 16. 9 cents for color, and that is a little high, even for the entry-level printer.
Duplexing is supported but it is not automatic, so you will need to flip the pages over yourself and re-insert them straight into the tray. The CP1215 features “Instant-on” technology to permit faster startup when resuming from PowerSave mode, and our tests verified HP's claim the unit requires 30 seconds to reach from sleeping to printing, which is preferable to average.
