The Officejet 6100 also earns points to its 250-sheet input capacity, instead from the more typical 100 or 150 sheets at this price. Not surprisingly, however, you do not obtain a duplexer (for printing on each side from the page ) and there is just one paper tray. If you need to print an envelope, say, you will need to swap the paper inside the tray first.
Output Quality and Other Issues
Output quality to the
Officejet 6100 is in the low end of par for the inkjet overall, but nonetheless good enough for many business and private needs. Text lacks the crispness that you'd get given by a laser printer, and I would not even consider using it for, say, a resume. For day to day business use, however, you shouldn't have any complaints if you don‘t have an unusual need for small fonts.
Graphics quality is easily good enough for many home use or for just about any internal business need, including PowerPoint handouts for instance. I saw banding in certain full-page graphics, however it was relatively subtle with most color fills, and did not show in the least with some. I additionally saw a loss of a couple thin lines, but that is a common issue, and also the Officejet 6100 does better for this score than many printers. Colors in photos were just a little oversaturated, but roughly a match overall to the low end of what you'd expect from drug store prints.
