Build-quality is not brilliant, either. The
MX495 is made out of black plastic having a matte finish, and also the overall construction leaves much to become desired : the moveable parts feel just a little flimsy—not very reassuring. Nevertheless, the device should withstand the rigours of daily household printing.
Initially underwhelming, the
MX495 clawed back a couple of points because of its comprehensive and highly functional features. It is a shame, though, that recto-verso printing is not included. A memory card slot might also happen to be useful, although, using the rise of wireless connectivity, this really is becoming less and fewer of the problem.
