Using Bulk Crap Uninstaller
Since Bulk Crap Uninstaller is a portable application, we extracted the executable file and saved it in our chosen folder. Its portability means you can even store and run it from a removable storage medium, and it will not make changes to any system on which you use it.
We found the application’s graphical user interface relatively straightforward; hence we did not find any difficulty using it. When we launched it for the first time, it took some seconds to prepare the list of applications installed on our computer. We had the option to show system components and other protected items or hide everything from Microsoft. We could also choose to run quiet uninstaller last, disable uninstall protection and simulate uninstallation.
We saw, at a glance, the names of installed programs, their respective publishers, versions, installation dates, sizes and system type. Right-clicking an item displayed a context menu from where we could uninstall the program or perform other tasks like deleting its registry entry or copying specific details to the clipboard. We could also get more details about a selected program, including its overview, registry and uninstaller information.
The listed items were arranged in alphabetical order, and each had a check box to the left when the “Select using checkboxes” option was active. The application could also group the items into various categories such as ProgramData, Users and Windows.
We could select multiple items and choose to uninstall them at once by clicking the “Uninstall Checked Program” button. The application gave us the option to choose either the standard or quiet uninstall option. The quiet uninstall option was not available for all programs.
During uninstallation, the application displayed a progress bar and details of the programs being installed, including their names, type of uninstallation and status.
Conclusion
Bulk Crap Uninstaller is a small application with big results. The 788 KB executable file is fast and requires minimal system resources, and you do not even need to install it. It is basic enough for anyone to use but also includes advanced options for more experienced users. However, the application is still under active development and may not function on some systems.
